Huge project. Took about a year to finished and some dmv legal lag time. Purchased this chassis, a zx12r from a family friend for $750. He had removed the 1200cc motor for a buggy project and mounted a gsxr600 to it. I guess I wanted a challenge and it had a beautiful frame so I picked it up. Found a second gsxr600 motor on Craigslist for $450 to round out some odds and ends; better exhaust, and a sweet yoshi pipe. Fabricated a speedo mount, a battery box, radiator mounts, mounts for the fuel pump, and various other pieces of hardware. Installed after market fuel pump and regulator. Installed new front springs which required a compressor tool. I constructed one with 5$ worth of hardware and ratcheting tie downs. It took months working on the wiring, tracing everything, splicing and adding about 200ft of wire to move the ecu to the back of the bike from where it sits on the gsxr. After much creative thinking, and careful cross examination of two shop manuals. A Kawasaki zx12r and a Suzuki gsxr600 were merged and a Kawasuki gxzx r600 was born. Total project cost about $2500. The dmv registration was a nightmare but it eventually worked out after several inspections and much paperwork.
