This build was by far the most satisfying project to date. Initially I wanted to make the backyard space more inviting. By adding a deck, many recreational activities became available. Martial arts training, yoga, and outdoor movies to name a few. The project cost just under 4k over the span of about 3 years. The roof structure was finished first and it took the better part of a year before I started working on the deck proper. The walkway was the final addition, again about a year after the deck itself. The shade segments are made from shade cloth you can find at any home improvement store and heavy fabric from promotional posters I collected years back. One final step for this project would be creating a free eBook and selling kits with hardware, heavy duty steel brackets, and deck tools.
